| Dr. Stadtfeld, Board Executive and a principal founder of BGI is a world renowned authority of gear theory, gear development and application. Formerly Vice President, and head of Research & Development at The Gleason Works in Rochester, New York. Dr. Stadtfeld holds no less than 22 US patents. As a leading authority on gear technology, he has lectured extensively in technical institutions and industrial gear manufacturing forums throughout the world. In addition, he has published and distributed worldwide, many research papers including six books about gear theory, design and application. While at The Gleason Works, Dr. Stadtfeld was instrumental in creating new gear manufacturing processes and was a leading force behind the development of Gleason's new-generation gear cutting machines, including the Gleason POWER CUTTING® (dry cutting process) and the revolutionary PHOENIX II® machines. Having received his doctorate on bevel gear research at the Technical University of Aachen, Germany (WZL, Prof. Weck). Dr. Stadtfeld's first prominent position in the world of gears was as Director of Engineering and Research with Oerlikon in Zürich, Switzerland. In 1992, Dr. Stadtfeld accepted a position as Visiting Professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York and taught machine design and gear theory. In 1994 he assumed a position as the head of Gleason's Research & Development. Dr. Hermann Stadtfeld is driven by efficiency and innovation. His extraordinary knowledge of gears enables him to design the optimum configuration of bevel gear sets for specific automotive applications. Dr. Stadtfeld is not only a partner in BGI, he is an active participant and contributor in BGIs services to its customers. |

| Dr. Militzer, Board Executive and a principal founder of BGI is a successful entrepreneur with a solid background in Mechanical Engineering. He received his doctorate at the Technical University of Berlin, Germany (Institute of Production Technology, Prof. Spur). In 1975 Dr. Militzer started as a Project Engineer in his father's company, OMS, in Cornberg, Germany. OMS is recognized worldwide as a leading manufacturer of high-tech gearboxes for elevators and escalators. In 1990 Dr. Militzer founded Mitec Automotive in Eisenach, Germany. His goal was to produce highly precise ground gear sets. His commitment to high quality and the growing demand for engine balancers, quickly propelled Mitec to the top of the engine balancers market. Mitec also produces ground bevel and hypoid gears for automotive front-wheel and four-wheel drive as well as industrial gear box applications (OMS). In 1993 the demand for fast prototyping of automotive interior components lead Dr. Militzer to establish the company MT - Rapid Prototyping, located in Waltershausen, Germany. In 1994 he took over the Geibel & Hotz Machine Tool GmbH in Homberg/Ohm, Germany, a company that manufactures surface grinders and external/internal round grinding machines. In 2001 Dr. Militzer founded a division of Mitec, the MITEC engine.tec gmbh, in Eisenach. The EngineTec division produces engine balancers in a never before seen, fully automated factory environment. That same year, he entered into a partnership with Dr. Hermann J. Stadtfeld, when the two formed BGI Automotive, a gear engineering company that fulfills the growing gear engineering needs of automotive and truck axle manufacturers worldwide. Today, Dr. Militzer's companies employ a total of 1,200 people. |

| The Company | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| BGI is a unique bevel and hypoid gear research company founded by Dr. Hermann J. Stadtfeld and Dr. Michael Militzer. Both founders have taken note of the automotive industry's growing need for in-depth knowledge and data about gear theory, process development and noise optimization -- a need for advanced research and data that is independent of the traditional gear machine tool manufacturers.
BGI's goal is to establish a variety of products and services that will facilitate and improve the manufacture and quality of bevel and hypoid gears. These can be viewed as complementary to, or an extension of the services offered by major bevel gear machine tool manufacturers. The resulting advantage for BGI customers is a much higher level of customization, which will lead to more unique and efficient bevel gear products. Research and education is the very foundation of BGI. Our affiliation with the Technical University of Ilmenau assures cutting edge scientific research. It also provides us with a highly talented pool of potential gear theoreticians, process engineers and application engineers. Ultimately, BGI will create a new generation of application engineers, highly proficient in gear theory and process. Furthermore, they will be empowered with an extensive knowledge on noise and strength optimization, coupled with "hands-on" experience in optimizing the performance of bevel gear manufacturing machines. BGI's foremost mission is to deliver intelligent bevel gear solutions for the automotive and gear cutting industries with an unparalleled commitment to technological innovation and high quality standards. A knowledgeable and highly skilled staff of engineers is in place to implement BGI's commitment to world-class excellence. |
